Happy Thanksgiving Day! George Washington proclaimed November 26th as "A Day of Publick Thanksgiving and Prayer," in 1789. This famous Thanksgiving Proclamation assigned the day "to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be." And that it was "to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God." On today's quest, we will look at our cherished American tradition of Thanksgiving Day!

1. Our special Thanksgiving Day marks the commemoration of the first harvest of the Pilgrims of the Plymouth Plantation. On this day we gather together with family and friends for a large feast.
